YOGHURT A bowl of plain yogurt or salted one 2-3 times a day will significantly relieve diarrhea. Yogurt is rich in probiotics such as lactobacilli who play a significant role in maintaining the healthy environment of your gut. They can fight against the disease-causing bacteria in your gastrointestinal tract.
APPLE CIDER VINEGAR Apple cider vinegar(ACV) has antibacterial properties which can alleviate diarrhea. You may have a teaspoon of it in a glass of warm water and consume it for a week on an empty stomach.
FENUGREEK SEEDS Fenugreek has magical medicinal effects which can give instant relief to stomach-related problems. The mucilage content in it treats diarrhea. Swallow one teaspoon of fenugreek seeds with buttermilk or water. The main consequence of diarrhea is dehydration. Dehydration will not only cause loss of water but also loss of electrolytes and ions. Oral rehydration solutions(ORS) are a good mixture of salt glucose and ions that can restore the liquid-ion balance.
A BRAT(banana, rice, apple, and toast) diet is effective for a diarrhea patient. BRAT is a low fiber and low-fat diet which will not exhaust the digestive system with a heavy digestion process. Do prefer such a bland diet without spices and flavors avoid vomiting and nausea for the first few days. Zinc-rich food like cereals, yeast, nuts, etc., will prevent an emergency room for diarrhea. Slowly modify your diet with protein and fiber-rich food as your condition gets better.
