BTS is a seven- member South Korean boy band that began formation in 2010 and debuted in 2013 under BigHit Entertainment. The septet – composed of Jin, Suga, J – Hope, V, RM, Jimin and Jungkook.
“Butter” is a song recorded by BTS and released as a digital single on May 21, 2021. BTS has officially ruling the music world, with the group’s latest hit “Butter”, topping the Billboard Hot 100 chart for six weeks in a row now – setting a new record for the longest streak ever held for a No. 1 debut by a group.
The song’s official music video was the biggest premiere in YouTube history, drawing in 3.9 million concurrent viewers for its May 21 premiere. BTS broke its own record that was set when “dynamite” attracted 3 million concurrent viewers, according to the official YouTube blog.
Additionally, “Butter” has racked up 108.2 million views in the first 24 hours of its release, and broke the records for ”the most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a K-pop group” and ”the most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours” by any artist. It also broke their own 101.1 million view record for “Dynamite”
According to Nielsen Music/ MRC Data, “Butter” had 32.2 million U.S streams and 242,800 units sold in the week ending May 27. It also drew 18.1 million radio airplay audience impressions.
“Butter” also set the record for “the most streamed track on Spotify in the first 24 hours” with its 11,042,335 global streams in just one day. It beat Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber’s 2019 hit “I Don’t Care”.
In the Billboard music awards 2021, BTS bagged 4 trophies. With these latest achievements, BTS now holds a total of 23 Guinness World Records.
