Are your employees proud of your organization?? During my five years of corporate life, I have observed that the employees who were proud of the organization were the highest productive people in the organization. But how can you make them proud about your organization?? The answer is giving them the best working experience because people can’t remember what you have told them, but they surely remember how you have made them feel. So, a very fundamental thing to increase the productivity of your employees is to treat them the best possible way.
“Treat your employees the way you want them to treat your best customers”: Stephen Covey Your employees are your biggest assets but only if they are able to increase your company’s net worth day by day, and for that to happen you need to put efforts to increase their productivity. The amount of effort you put in product development, its marketing and sales, the same amount of effort you have to put for the overall development of your employee if you want to accelerate the growth of your business. Let’s discuss some of the ways to make your people proud of you and in turn, make them more productive.
Select the right type and the right number of candidates
If you want your people to complete the task in a shorter time and in the best possible way then select the right person for the right task, delegate the task to the person who has expertise in that field. Apart from selecting the right people, selecting enough people is also important. You can’t expect to get the work of four employees from two employees. Overloading of the work is also a cause of hampering the productivity of an employee.
Trust your employees
Once you select the right person for the right task, have some trust in their ability. Don’t try to micromanage them, instead give them the freedom to take some of the decisions on their own, which makes them responsible and gives them a sense of self-satisfaction on completion of the task. This will make them take more responsibility on their shoulders.
Flexible and fix working hours
Fix and flexible working hours help your employees to stay energetic. Keep 8 hours of working with some interval of about 1-2 hours. For example, if working hours are 8 am-4 pm, then you can divide them like 8 am-12noon, then from 12noon to 2 pm break in which they are allowed to do anything of their choice and come back for work from 2 pm to 6 pm.
So, after a break, they will come with double the energy which helps them to work more effectively. Along with the flexibility of working hours don’t allow anyone to work beyond fixed working hours to maintain a system. Measure your employees’ productivity based on the accomplishment of the task and not based on the no of hours they work, –
Incentivize employees
Appreciated employees will work more than expected. If you want to increase the efficiency of your employees, then reward them for all the expertise they bring to the table. You can reward them in any form either praise them in front of all the delegates of the organization, you can take them out for either lunch or dinner, or you can reward them with some bonus or gifts.
Guide them
In the game of cricket where before heading to the ground the captain of the team will gather all the players and will educate them about the possible obstacles and the ways to conquer them. Likewise, you can also arrange two minutes round table conference before starting any new projects and educate them about your goal, possible hurdles, the way to rectify them, and the outcome you want to achieve. This way the employee will work confidently.
